Yes the gift haus is part of the Roadside business. Since 1953 at this location. We will keep things as thay are because its my great grand fathers art. You can't change someone else's art. It be like changing the Mona Lisa. I am glad you see that it should not be changed. Thanks for your comments and Enjoy your next visit !

I'm so glad to see you are still in operation. Roadside America was one of most favorite places to go as a child and then later when I was a teen. I think we used to go about every year. Love the miniatures! Especially the ones that were interactive! Don't change a thing...and thanks for the warm memory!

Hi, are you the same owners as Roadside America? I've been to both the Dutch Gift Haus and RA several times and love both! Amy

Hello,

The comment about the night show; yes I know its old buts original and that how the creator and builder left it. I can surely let the maintenance people know and see what they think. They just don't like changing the style of the art. Thanks for your comment.

Hi, I am planning a vacation and your villages intrigue me since I have always liked 'little' things. My dilema, had I not found your brochure at a visitor center, would be that I do not see your address or and entrance fees posted to your website. Directions would also be helpful. Thanks.

Hello,

I just wanted to say that I enjoyed Roadside America, it had many great building designs and I love the "night show." There was one concern though, I think you need to update the "God Bless America" theme. The picture looks ancient. My suggestion would be to create a slide show of pictures around the United States from it's old days when it started as the 13 English Colonies to what it has become today. I think it would make more sence with the theme ROADSIDE AMERICA!

Hello,

Thanks for checking out the shop and having a chat with the owner.I try to make sure we have alot of Pa Dutch items in the dutch room for everyone.Hopefully one weekned I will see you in the shop.

Hex signs are made from an old tradition, folklore and other related things. I think the story may be on our website. If your asking what they are mad from in a physical form then its like a hard wood type board that withstands weather for a long period of time. If you would like more information please feel free to call the shop during business hours.

Visited the Gift Haus this afternoon, Memorial Day 2010. My wife and I are going to visit some friends in Texas and want to take some souvenirs along from the area. What a wonderful gift shop with alot of things true to the area. We had a friendly chat with Delores and will surely stop in again. Can't wait to tell some of my friends about our visit.

Thank you for your kind comment. I am the great grand daughter of the builder. We do enjoy offering the wonderful display for everyone to experience. The amazing art and craftsmanship is so different to see.

My father graduated from the University of Kentucky and my mom from Penn State. Back in the middle 60's, the three of us went to visit both colleges, hitting PSU on the way back. On the way back home to New Jersey we stopped at Roadside America. I was in such awe!!! I think I was about 6 or 7. First thing I wanted to do was to become MINIATURE and walk amongst all the villages! I've been coming back (as an adult) every year and bring my friends and their kids to their awed amazement also! And everytime I return, I still want to become miniature and roam the countryside! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GIVING SO MUCH! MAY GOD ALWAYS BLESS YOU AND ROADSIDE AMERICA!
